DX Diaphragm Pumps Troubleshooting

• Symptom1 - Pump will not ‘Prime’.
• Symptom2 - Pump will not run.
• Symptom3 - Pump runs but has excessive pulsation.

 

Symptom1 - Pump will not ‘Prime’.

Possible Cause

1. Air getting into the suction hose/manifold.
2. Check valve ball/seal damaged.

Remedy

1. Check hose connections.
2. Inspect, clean/replace balls/seats.

 

Symptom2 - Pump will not run.

Possible Cause

1. No Air or Fluid supply.
2. Air valve worn or defective.

Remedy

1. Check air and fluid supply ball valves and supply hoses.
2. Replace valve module.

 

Symptom3 - Pump runs but has excessive pulsation.

Possible Cause

1. Air getting into fluid line, air supply restricted.
2. Fluid check valves damaged.
3. Worn centre shaft/seals.
4. Worn air valve.

Remedy

1. Check seals and hose connections. Check air supply
2. Remove, clean, and inspect seat, ball, and ball cage. Replace if suspect or worn.
3. Replace shaft and seals.
4. Replace air valve module.
