Pressure Tanks Troubleshooting
- Symptom1 - Air escaping from port on regulator cap.
- Symptom2 - Pressure creepage registered on gauge.
- Symptom3 - Material tends to settle out rapidly.
- Symptom4 - Air leakage at agitator seal.
- Symptom5 - Paint getting into bearing assembly of agitator.
- Symptom6 - Fluid or air leak at lid gasket.
- Symptom7 - Fluid or air leak at fill port gasket.
- Symptom8 - Air mixing with paint.
Symptom1 - Air escaping from port on regulator cap.
Possible Cause
Broken or damaged diaphragm.
Remedy
Replace diaphragm.
Symptom2 - Pressure creepage registered on gauge.
Possible Cause
Dirty or worn valve seat in regulator.
Remedy
Clean or replace valve seat.
Symptom3 - Material tends to settle out rapidly.
Possible Cause
Not enough agitation of material.
Remedy
Increase agitation.
Symptom4 - Air leakage at agitator seal.
Possible Cause
Defective seal assembly.
Remedy
Replace.
Symptom5 - Paint getting into bearing assembly of agitator.
Possible Cause
- Paint level in tank too high.
- Defective agitator shaft seal.
Remedy
- Keep fluid level under bearing ass’y.
- Replace agitator shaft seal.
Symptom6 - Fluid or air leak at lid gasket.
Possible Cause
- Thumb screw not tight.
- Defective lid gasket.
Remedy
- Tighten thumb screw not.
- Replace lid gasket.
Symptom7 - Fluid or air leak at fill port gasket.
Possible Cause
- Fill port cap not tight.
- Defective fill port gasket.
Remedy
- Tighten fill port cap.
- Replace fill port gasket.
Symptom8 - Air mixing with paint.
Possible Cause
- Fluid tube not sealed to lid.
- Excessive agitation.
Remedy
- Tighten fluid tube into lid.
- Reduce speed of agitator.
