Hand Spray Gun Installation Example - Gravity type
Gravity type(Side cup)
This is the most commonly used connection. The paint inlet, with a cup connected to it, is set on the right side of the gun. The cup capacity is 400mL as usual and designed with free angle, so the angle of the cup can be changed to any direction you want to spray at, preventing paint from spilling. However, working with the left hand may not be suitable because the cup may obstruct your view.
Gravity type(Center cup)
This type is commonly used in Europe. The paint drops directly underneath because the paint inlet is set right on the top of the gun, so even high-viscosity coating is easy to flow due to low flow resistance. It is superior in terms of the handedness since this type is available for both right and left-handed users. But changing the angle of the gun is limited because the cup is fixed. Besides, a stand is required to place the gun, and thus currently there are few users in Japan. Recently however, the number of users tends to increase.
Hand Spray Gun Installation Example - Suction type
Suction type
Coating material will be drawn up from the cup due to the siphon principle, a situation created by the compressed air flow at the tip of the nozzle. Therefore, the discharge volume is smaller than that of the gravity type with the same diameter. This type comes in handy too because no matter whether the user is right or left-handed, it can be placed on the floor or a stand as the cup attached.
Hand Spray Gun Installation Example - Pressure type
Pressure type
A system that pressurizes the paint with a pump or a pressure tank for the paint supply to the spray gun. Suitable for large area coatings and in fact often used for coatings for heavy-duty vehicles.
